Judge Garfield Lowe, 76, died Thursday at his home in Polson after a long illness.

Mr. Lowe was born Nov. 3, 1880, in Kansas City, Mo., and came to Montana in 1910 to farm in the Valley View area. He had resided in or near Polson since the, except for a few years in Missouri.

He married Mary E. Wilson-Wood in 1942 and returned to Montana in 1946. He was an active member of the Church of God and organized Sunday Schools in Valley View and Pablo. He was a lay preacher. After his return to Montana, he helped to organize and build the Polson Church of God.

He is survived by his widow of Polson, two brothers, Richard Lowe of Harrington, Wash., and Graham of Novinger, Mo.; and three sisters, Mrs. Bernice Converse of Earlton, Kan., Mrs. Lena Wood of Denver, and Mrs. George Lagle of Kirkswood, Mo.

Services in Retz Chapel, Polson. Burial in Lakeview Cemetery, Polson.
