Thomas Rose, son of John H. Rose and Sarah "Sallie" Morehead, was born April 28, 1856 in Knox County, Illinois and died April 28, 1950 in Woodbine, Harrison County, Iowa. He married Letitia Eleanor Reid on January 1, 1882 in Elliott, Iowa. Children: Blanche, Beula, Ralph, Harry, John, Floyd, Freddie, Vivian, and Hellen. Some records appear to spell surname as REID, others show her surname as READE (this is how it is shown on her son Ralph's birth record) however daughter Helen Elizabeth Rose on her Social Security application clearly spelled her mother's maiden name as Reed.
In 1882, Thomas and Letitia were married. Interestingly, they gave all their children the middle initial of E;.
