Franklin J. Ward, 89, of Nassau Street, and formerely of Rte. 212 in Saugerties died Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at his residence. Born August 5, 1918 in Catskill, New York he was the son of the late Frank and Goldie Teetsel Ward. A Veteran of World War II he served in the United States Army-Air Corp. A Saugerties area resident for many years he formerly owned and operated, "Frank and Claire's General Store" on Rte. 212 in Centerville. He also was employed as a School Bus and Taxi Driver for several years. He was a member and past Chief of the Centerville-Cedar Grove Fire Company, and the Ulster County Fireman's Association. He was a former member of the High Woods Sportsman Club and the Moose Lodge in Bradenton, Florida. Predeceased by his 1st wife, Claire Ann Wegbauer in 1982 and his 2nd wife, Julia. Survivors include 2 Daughters: Barbara Earley of Islip Terrace, NY and Linda Felice of Duanesburg, NY. 1 Step Son: Eugene Shultis of Bradenton, Fla. 3 Grandchildren, 6 Step Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. His Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Sunday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Corner of John & Lafayette Streets, Saugerties. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Saugerties.
