"Aged Homer Man Died Of Old Age - John Wesley Smith, Residing Southeast of That Village, Passed Away at Ninety-Three - Homer, Ill., Dec. 3.—John Wesley Smith, one of the oldest residents of Champaign county, who resided seven miles southeast of this city, died Wednesday, aged 93 years.

Mr. Smith was born near Pittsburg, Pa., December 10, 1816 and came to Illinois 42 years ago. His wife died some 9 years ago and a daughter, Mrs. Maude Kelso, two years ago, leaving three sons and three daughters surviving, as follows: Winfield, Thomas and William, and Mrs. Emma Brandon, all residing near Homer; Mrs. Violet Savert of West Plains, Mo., and Mrs. Alyda Wood of Allerton, Ill.
