SANGER — John Milton "J.M." Forrest Jr., 80, of Sanger, owner of J.M. Forrest Trucking Co. for 55 years, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2003, at Denton Com-mu-nity Hospital.

He was born July 4, 1923, in Sanger. He married Bobbie Jeane McGrady.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a lifetime member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and the National Rifle Association.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, at Sanger Cemetery. Terry Sanders and Gary Lecocq will officiate.

Pallbearers will be John Forrest, Chad Cole, Terry Lee Forrest, Gary Lecocq, Kelly Swafford and Jim Mercer.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, at Coker Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife of Sanger; one daughter, Darlene Forrest Sanders of Pilot Point; two sons, John Milton "Johnny" Forrest III of Sanger and Jimmy Forrest of Denton; one sister, Dorothy Bowden of Fort Worth; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Jozelle Bradley and Flora Hughes; and one grandson, James Allen Forrest Jr.
