She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church of Sterling. She attended Hooker Country School and lived and farmed with her brothers in the Adams area until retiring in 1999 and moving into Adams. She also helped her brother, Frank, who owned and operated Schoen trucking.
She was a charter member of the American Lutheran Church of Adams. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and loved animals.
Survivors include numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Gretje (Grace) Furst Schoen; five brothers, Dick, Louis, Alfred, Harold and Frank Schoen; and three sisters, Anna Cramer, Frieda Agena and Bertha Rowe.
