ELTA (BARNES) LIVINGSTON Elta Mae (Barnes) Livingston, 83, passed away Jan. 18, 2010, in Temple, Texas. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. May 15 at Highland Cemetery in Ottawa. She was born Oct. 8, 1926, in Richmond, Kan., to Elmar and Rosa (Wantland) Cooper. She attended schools in Richmond, Princeton and graduated from Ottawa High School in 1944. She worked as an accountant for more than 20 years in Ottawa and California. She married Robert Barnes Feb. 4, 1946, at Trinity Methodist Church in Ottawa, Kan. The couple had three children and owned a family business, Barnes Upholstery, in Ottawa. After Robert's death in 1971, Elta moved to California with her son, Dennis. She later married Tom Livingston in Petaluma, Calif., Oct. 22, 1983. The couple moved to Belton, Texas, in 1989. After Tom's death in 1995, Elta returned to Ottawa where she lived several years before returning to Texas to be near her daughter. She remained in Texas until her death. Elta was a member and past president of Aerie Lodge #2700, Fraternal Order of Eagles of Ottawa. She loved genealogy, as well as reading mystery novels and historical nonfiction. She also enjoyed playing bingo at the Eagles Club and the VFW in Ottawa. Survivors include a son, Doug, and his wife Barbara, California; one daughter, Judy, and her husband Wayne, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Lori, Calif.; one brother, Marion Cooper of Napa, Calif.; one sister, Nellie Brown, Wichita; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; as well as many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her two husbands; five brothers, Howard, Clark, Clarence, Arlie, and Raymond Cooper; and her oldest son, Dennis, California, who passed away in the summer of 2009. Elta has joined her loved ones at God's side and will remain in the hearts of her family until all can be reunited once again. Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home is handling the arrangements
