A. W. Reimer, age 71 years, passed away at Bethel hospital Saturday night at 11:45 after ten days illness. Mr. Reimer suffered a slight stroke of paralysis at that time from becoming overheated around his yard. Earlier in the day he seemed to be much improved and was planning on going home Sunday but a sudden change set in and he passed away.
He has resided in Newton since he retired from his farm near Canton about ten years ago. He leaves besides his widow, one daughter and six sons.
A short funeral service will be held at the home, 417 East Third, at 12:00 o'clock Thursday and the main service will be held at the Mennonite church at Gossel at 2:30 Thursday afternoon. The internment will be in the Gossel cemetery.
