LAVALE, MD "Catherine (Miller) Douglas, of LaVale, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at the Frostburg Village Nursing Home.
Born on December 14, 1925, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Eva (Lavin) Miller.
Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Douglas, four brothers, and one sister. She was the last surviving member of her family.
Catherine was employed at the Greenhouse Restaurant in Hanahan, South Carolina as a waitress. She also waitressed at Sheehe's in Cumberland, Maryland.
Surviving are two daughters; Carolyn Llewellyn and husband Roger; Lois Mullenax and husband Warren both of Cumberland; three grandchildren, Jeff Llewellyn of SC; Craig Llewellyn of VA; and Amanda Riggleman of Mount Savage, MD. Also surviving are seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A.,108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 from 6-8 P.M. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday June 11 at 1 P.M. with Pastor Samuel Seletyn officiating.
Interment will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens, Charleston, S.C.
