Russian Royalty. Grand Duke Michael was the fourth son and seventh child of Czar Nicholas I of Russia and Charlotte of Prussia. His bride was Princess Cecily of Baden, who took the Russian name of Olga Fedorovna, and seven children were born to their union. He was appointed to the post of Governor General of Tbilisi, the capitol of the country of Georgia, and all his children considered that city their hometown. The Grand Duke loyally served four Emperors during his lifetime: his father, Alexander II, Alexander III, and Nicholas II.
