Franklin Delano Parker went to be with the Lord Thursday, May 20, 2010, with his family by his side.
Burial will follow at Cache KCA Cemetery under direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home.
He was born May 11, 1934, in Comanche County, to Len Nehio and Birtie Asewaynah Fisher Parker. He was a member of the Comanche Nation, was the grandson of Quanah Parker and Aerwuthtakeum and Rudolph Fisher and Kackacha. He served in the United States Air Force and was a sheriff and undersheriff in McAlester.
He is survived by his children and their spouses: Arlan Whitebird Parker, Horton, Kan.; Kevin Lynn Parker, Norman; Jeffrey and Chesa Kadayso Parker, Anadarko; Lana Parker, Norman; Damon and Samantha Parker, Anadarko; and Jon Len and Janie Komardley Parker, of the home; one sister, Geraldine Weryavah, Lawton; one brother, Leonard and wife, LaRue Parker, Anadarko; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and a special caregiver, Shelia Gillis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sisters: Esther Parker, Jerome Parker, Vera Parker, Cynthia Ann Parker, Iona Parker and Harold Parker; grandparents: Quanah Parker and Aerwuthtakeum; and Rudolph Fisher and Kackacha.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 1-2:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Roberts, Robert Gutierrez Jr., Randall Massey, Sonny Weryavah, Steve Martin, Gerald Mason, Gary Parker and Dwayne Flowers.
Honorary pallbearer will be Terry Shaw.
