On Thursday, May 4, Mrs. William Campion, died at her home, eight miles southeast of Horton, of a complication of diseases brought on by a deep seated cold. She was sick about six months. Her many friends were greatly shocked to hear of her death. Mrs. Campion has lived in the Clear Creek neighborhood since her marriage to Wm. Campion, which occurred about 15 years ago, with the exception of the two years in Everest. She loved the country best.

Miss Libbie Killoren was born near Griggsville, Illinois, about 45 years ago and came with her parents to Brown county when a child, settling close to Powhattan. Her sister, Miss Maggie Killoren, While teaching the Clear Creek school a good many years ago, brought Libbie to our neighborhood where she met Mr. Campion and the acquaintance culminated in marriage.

Each person who was well acquainted with Mrs. Campion considers her death a personal loss; that she was liked by everybody that knew her is putting it mildly. No children were ever born to Mrs. Campion and she therefor gave all her love to her nephews and nieces, giving them a good home and making i pleasant fo them. They will miss "dear Aunt Libbie" very much.

Mrs. Campion is survived by her husband, three brothers and two sisters. The brothers are: George Killoren of Powhattan; John Killoren of Tonganoxie, and Fred* Killoren, who lives in Oklahoma. The sisters are: Miss Maggie Killoren, a prominent teacher of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Joe Stimmell, also of Oklahoma City.

Charity and kindness were prominent traits of her character, and they shone like diamonds in the estimation of your humble writer. She was always thoughtful of old people. Mrs. Campion was a devoted Catholic, and the funeral was held Monday, May 8, at St. Leo's church in Horton, and conducted by Rev. Father Hildebrand, Rev. Father McIntyre of Everest, and Rev. Father Pipp, of Chicago. Interment in the Horton Catholic cemetery.
