Robert made his home in Columbia. He was preceeded in death by his father, Leslie Richard Davey, on October 7, 1975, and his mother, the former Roberta Jane Mayhill, on October 25, 1993.
Bob, a life-long Tuolumne County resident, was born in Jamestown and attended Sonora Elementary and Sonora High schools. He worked for the California Department of Forestry before joining the Army in 1965.
After his discharge in 1967, Mr. Davey worked as a heavy equipment operator and was employed for about 20 years through the Teamsters Union.
He was an active volunteer for the Columbia Fire Department for 40 years and had held all major elected offices in the department.
Mr. Davey was survived by three brothers, Les and Wayne Davey, and Bob Scoville; uncles Dick and Johnny Davey; aunts, Annie John, Mary Decker, Daisy Folz and Louise Brown, and his stepfather, Bob Scoville, Sr. He was the brother of the late Diane Scoville-Vermillion.
