Zora Ann Dochterman Billings was born at Etna, Missouri, November 1, 1884 and departed this life December 9, 1966 at the age of 82 years, one month, and eight days at the Laughlin Hospital in Kirksville, Missouri.
Zora was the daughter of James K. Polk Dochterman and Martha Ann (Martin) Dochterman. She was united in marriage to Maynard Billings on January 13, 1904. To this union three children were born. They spent their life together on a farm in Scotland County. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Maynard, May 27, 1953 and one daughter Rose Ann, who died at the age of two, two brothers, Floyd and James Andrew and three sisters, Grace Arthur, Ida Combs, and Cora.
Surviving are one son Ross Billings of Granger, Missouri, one daughter-in-law Stella with whom she spent the last three months, two grandsons, Richard (Dick) Billings, stationed in Germany and Tom at home, one granddaughter in law, Teresa of Granger and one brother, Jesse Dochterman of Luray, a number of nieces and nephews and a host of neighbors and friends.
Aunt Zora as she was known by many will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.
