When my hubby's brother returned home from the military, he flew from California to Virgina and brought with him a young Irish Setter/Golden Retriever mix, though she looked mostly like an Irish Setter.

Her name became Ginger, but her nick name was "Ginger-Aid" because she looked like Kool-Aid with her beautiful red coat.

She had her own chair in the living room. All we had to say was, "Ginger, go get in your chair." She would go immediately, get into the chair, turn around once and then just flop down.

She and Skip became best friends and the two were inseparable. She grieved his loss terribly.
