Wade H. Murphy, 74, of Jeannette, passed away Monday, March 30, 2009, in the Excela Health Hospice Center at Jeannette Hospital. Born Oct. 8, 1934, in Jeannette, he was a son of the late Charles E. and Erma (Walter) Murphy. Wade was a graduate of the Penn Joint High School. He then served as a Seaman First Class with the Coast Guard. Following his time in the service he worked as a machine operator with the former Jeannette General Tire Company for 37 years. Wade was also an avid hunter and fisherman, a proud member of the National Rifle Association, and a lifelong member of Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Bernard Murphy. Wade is survived by his wife of 51 years, Becky J. (Olson) Murphy; three sons, Daniel Murphy and wife, Lynn, of Greensburg, Shawn Murphy and friend, Ron Malago, of Greensburg, and Michael Murphy and wife, Diane, of Jeannette; three grandsons, Daniel, Evan and Logan Murphy; a sister, Alice Fisher and husband, Paul, of Jeannette; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no public visitation. A celebration of Wade's life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the McCLURE & JOBE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE, INC., 112 North Second St., Jeannette
