Charles Foster Masterson, son of Rollan and Mabel Cram Masterson, passed away in Orem, Wednesday, May 12, 2010 from complications of a stroke.
Foster was born April 13, 1931 in Kanab, Utah where he grew up. He loved roaming the Red Sand hills with his siblings and friends. While growing up he worked in his Dad's cafes.

Foster served in the Signal Core while in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1952-54 during the Korean War.

He then worked for the Bureau of Reclamation with the building of the Glen Canyon Dam. He worked by Buck Skin Wash mining manganese ore. He moved with his family to Orem in 1959 and worked at Masterson's Drive-In Cafe. He later met and married Marie Wiscomb while working at Deseret Industries. They later divorced. He worked there for 27 years, first as a dock worker and later driving truck. Foster retired early to help take care of his aging father.

Foster enjoyed cars and his 1974 Bronco which he took hunting with his brothers. He also enjoyed western movies, especially John Wayne's.

Foster had a big heart and would help his family out whenever he could.

He is survived by his siblings: Rollan Phil (Carol), Royce (Anabel), Fred (Pat), Pamela (Gary) Hubbard, Stephen (Robin), Maryetta (Todd) Andreasen, and many nieces and nephews, all of whom loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, brother Wayne, and sister Roma Janssen.

We would like to thank two IHC hospitals and especially Orchard Park for their loving care of Foster in his last days.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday May 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cascade Chapel at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street, Orem.
