Mrs. David Brink Dies In San Diego Sunday
Word was receied here this week of the death at San Diego, Calif., Sunday, of Mrs. David Brink, former Davenport resident. Sunday was her 75th Birthday anniversary.
Nothing was learned as to the cause of her death. Relatives here received letters from her recently and she was in perfect health on April 12. The body is being shipped to Davenport, but it is not known when it will arrive. The funeral will be held at the M. E. church here as soon as the body arrives, and announcement as to the exact date will be made later.
Mrs. Brink, whose maiden name was Martha Louise Williams, was born in Oregon, April 15, 1859. She came to the Mondovi region in 1879 and was married there to David Brink on January 1, 1887. Mr. Brink in later years became a pastor in the United Brethern church, and they resided at Dayton, Wash., Grants Pass, Ore., and other towns while he held pastorates there. They moved back to Davenport in 1925, and resided here until Mr. Brink's death on December 10, 1932.
She then moved to San Diego to be close to her son, Thomas F. Brink, a sailor in the United States Navy, her sole survivor. The son is now on the U. S. S. Saratoga, enroute to the east coast with the United States fleet, and will be unable to come here for the funeral.
