Corte and May were married at the home of her parents near Shell Creek 1 June 1909. After their wedding they resided on a ranch near Shell Creek. Over the years Corte raised Toggenburg goats, Shorthorn-Jersey cross dairy cows, Duroc hogs. In about 1913, he moved back to Plainfield, IL where he farmed and attended autioneering school. By 1915, he was back in WY. At first he worked on Buffalo Bill's Carter Ranch, then he purchased his own farm in Shell Creek. Here he had one of the biggest hog operations in Big Horn County, WY, over 100 breeding head of Duroc Jerseys, most cross bred, but some registered. At the same time, he along with his father and/or with his brother had an autioneering service.
This continued until the disastrous year of 1923. Late that summer May died; then a couple of months later cholera wiped out his hog herd. Being more than he could cope with, he left the 5 children with his parents, and joined the circus. Traveling with the circus up the west coast, at some point he ended up in Kansas City, MO. Here he met his second wife, Julia 'June' (Johnson) Fink. After their marriage, his mother brought the children out to be reunited with their father and new stepmother, sometime in 1925.
Corte, June, and their blended family moved to Cornville, AZ; they are found there on the 1928 voter roles. Here he worked on Jim Page's ranch. Corte was working for him as an irrigator at the time of his death. According to death records, Corte died of an abscess in his cranial cavity in Jim Page's car as he was bringing him to a doctor in town.
Besides the 4children listed below, his youngest child is still living. May was the mother of all Corte's children.
