Ferron Cleo Elder, 82, died at his son Scott's home in Tridell, Utah after a brief battle with cancer.

Born in Neola, Utah on August 28, 1927 to Abram and Edith Elder.

Married Shirley Bullock on July 4, 1951. She preceded him in death on May 2, 2009. His daughter, Nancy, preceded him in death on October 19, 2009. Ferron married Mary Bullock on July 24, 2009.

Ferron was a happy, friendly, loving, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved fishing almost more than anything. He was a veteran of the Korean War. A lifetime member of the LDS church, he served in the church for many years. He and his wife Shirley served a mission in Hawaii from 1996 to 1997.

He is survived by wife, Mary; daughters Susan (Dan) Coles, Connie (Ferren) Squires, Elaine (Brad) Barnett, Joyce (Mike) Haynie, Patti (Jim) Fackrell, Mindy (Curt) Riley, Scott (Julie) Elder, Kristi (Wayne) Naumann, forty-seven grandchildren, and fifty great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2010 in the Bountiful Thirteenth Ward Chapel, 1365 North 650 East, Bountiful. A viewing will be held on Friday evening, May 21, 2010 at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. There will also be a viewing held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. before the funeral services in the Ward Building.
Interment will be in Lakeview Memorial Estates Cemetary.
