GARRET H BETTS: 69; formerly D'Moines-now LeGrand, died unexpectedly Thursday [11-27] of an apparent heart attack. Born in PolkCnty 22 Nov 1900, he was a son of George & Nora Howard Betts, pioneer settlers of PolkCnty in 1850's. He received his education in the area of his birth. Mr Betts had been recently emp-loyed as a truck driver for Wiley Ward-Marshalltown.
Surviving are 5 children: Rob't-Green Mountin; William-Montour; Eugene-Sacremento CA; Mrs B Glenn Church-Garwin; & Mrs James Moore-Marshalltown; a sis: MrsGeo Goodwin-Rockford IL; & 11 grandchildren.
Service will be Monday[12-1] from Estel Perrin Funrl Home Chapel with RevDr Jas Delahooke-First United Methodist in charge. Burial will be in D'Moines at PineHilll Cem.
