Obituary:

Edwin W. Tripp, resident of Northfield for many years, died Wednesday in his sleep at the Odd Fellows Home, where he had been a resident for a few years. He was 90 years old on September 17.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the home of Mr. Tripp's son, R. A. Tripp, with Rev. R. A. Klaus officiating. The Odd Fellows lodge will take part in the service. Burial will be in Oaklawn cemetery.

Edwin W. Tripp, son of George and Caroline Tripp, was born September 17, 1853, at Warren, N. Y., near Buffalo. When three years of age he came with his parents to the Castle Rock community. He continued living on the same farm until he and his family came to Northfield 43 years ago when he retired from farming. He was married July 4, 1888, to Anna Christine Jorgenson. They had nine children, George, Robert Ancil, Harry, Carl, Walter, Grace, Ernest, Ray and Fay.

Mr. Tripp had always been active in the Odd Fellows lodge. Even tho he had reached the age of ninety his mind was alert and he was keenly interested in all world affairs. His two wishes were always that he would reach the age of ninety and that he would pass away in his sleep, both which were granted.

Surviving Mr. Tripp are three sons, George and R. A. of Northfield and Harry of Portland, Ore. His wife and the other six children had preceded him in death.
