One source give the first name of Hannah. Likely, Ann was a nickname. According to her grand-daughter, Lucy Marie, she was from a Quaker family and the spelling of her name was Elbrechdt, which appears to have been of German origin. Her maiden name has been reported as Albright but apparently the name was changed to Albright in America due to the pronunciation. The name means bright tip of a sword. During the 1850 census her name was given as Anne and she was shown as born in Pennsylvania.
