The death of Mrs. Amelia A. Billings occurred at the home of her son, Anson Billings, near Wyaconda, Missouri, Tuesday, June 13, 1893. She had gone there June 1st, accompanied by her granddaughter Georgie Soule, for a visit with her sons, three of whom live in that section. She had been in her usual health up to the time of her arrival there. Her ailment was of a dropsical nature. Mrs. Billings was born July 29th, 1821, in Monroe County, Ohio. She was left an orphan at four years of age. Her maiden name was Gildersleeves. She was married in Ohio, and six children were the fruits of this union, two daughters and four sons, all of whom are living. She had made her home in LaHarpe, with her daughter, Mrs. Annie Soule, for the past fifteen years. Mrs. Soule was notified of her mother's sickness and reached her bedside two days before her death. The burial occurred at Wyaconda. Mrs. Soule has the sympathy of all in her loss.
