CUMBERLAND,MARYLAND — Nancy June (Kline) Dignan, 76, of Cumberland, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, May 18, 2010.

Born June 2, 1933, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Elwood Kline and the late Alice (Gero) Halterman. She was also preceded in death by one son, Stephen Michael Dignan, in 1956.

She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of St. Patrick Church, a member of church choir, and helped for many years in soup kitchens and for the St. Vincent De Paul Society. Nancy's passion in life was her family and friends and always looked forward to family reunions. She was a mother to more children than her own in many ways and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Paul Dignan Sr.; her five daughters, MaryAnn Foreman and husband Harry, of Reading, Pa., Regina Bechtol and husband Gary, of Winchester, Va., Virginia Snyder and husband Kerry, Theresa Simanski and husband David, and Renee McCullough and husband Tony, all of Cumberland. Also surviving are eight sons, Paul Dignan Jr. and wife Carla, of Illinois, Mark Dignan and wife Janet, Gregory Dignan, Anthony Dignan and wife Joyce, Christopher Dignan, Michael Dignan, John Dignan, and Matthew Dignan and wife Brook, all of Cumberland; 32 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, Rick Halterman, of Tennessee; two sisters, Judy Harrington and Sandra Toledo, both of Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, www.scarpellifuneralhomes. com on Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian Wake will be conducted at 9 p.m. with Deacon Frank Werner.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Patrick Church on Saturday at 10 a.m. with Father Bernard Finerty, O.F.M., Cap. and Father John Lesnick as celebrants.

Interment will follow in SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Cumberland.

The family would like to express their thanks to Dr. Khanna, Dr. Nelson, and Dr. Fananapazir for their loving care and support as well as Western Maryland Medical Center and the nurses and physical therapy department at Allegany Health Nursing and Rehab Center.
