Mrs. Alpha Day, wife of Lewis Day, deceased, was born in Walton county, Ga., March 7, 1808, and died at the residence of Abel Phillips, her son-in-law, Aug. 17, 1885.

She was married in the above-named county in 1826, and joined the Primitive Baptist Church, in which she (sic) until her death, that was calm, peaceful, and met with but few regrets. Her life was almost a perfect model as mother she was loving, as friend and neighbor she was gentle and kind, as christian she seemed to be always about her Father's business.

On the 18th of August her lifeless form was carried and interred with the usual ceremonies at Boiling Springs cemetery, close beside her husband who had gone before her about nine years. J. H. J.
