Della Mae Brashears, 65, Lejunior, passed away Monday, May 17, 2010 at the Hazard App. Reg. Hospital. She was born June 16, 1944 in Harlan County and had lived here most of her life. Della was a homemaker and believed in the Church of God faith and also attended Horizon Adult Health Care.

Della was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bo" Brashears; one daughter, Carolyn Coots; her parents, Polly Cloud Melton and Jim Melton, two brothers, Charles Melton and Fred Melton; and one sister, Rachel Melton.

Survivors include five children, Melinda "Tiny" Slone and husband Kerby Slone Jr., Lexington; Merleynn Dickison and husband Paul, Nicholasville; Frank Caldwell and wife Penny, Mt Vernon; Deborah Deal and husband James, Lejunior; Sandy Green and husband Mike, Ages; one son-in-law Mike Logan, Coxton; one brother James Melton, Corbin; one sister, Lillie Blackburn, Lejunior; and one aunt Flossie Brown, Cranks Creek. Also surviving is a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends including 20 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 3 expectant great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 19, 2010 from 5 to 8 PM in the Chapel of the Evarts Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 20, 2010 at 11 AM in the Chapel of the Evarts Funeral Home with the Reverend James Sanders and the Reverend Arnold Sanders officiating.

Burial will be in the Evarts Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
