Trena Mabel Stevenson, 94, of Hershey, NE, died December 8, 2009, at Centennial Park Retirement Village in North Platte, NE. Trena was born August 7, 1915, in Poole, NE, to Ivan R. and Anna Henrietta Tatem Edson and attended school in Farnam, NE. On September 14, 1935, Trena married Willis Orvin"Bill"Stevenson at McCook, NE. They farmed north of Holbrook, NE, until moving to Wallace, NE, in 1953. In 1954, they moved to Hershey where they lived for the remainder of their lives. Trena and Bill owned and operated the Hershey Cafe. She later worked in North Platte at Montgomery Ward''s before retiring. Trena was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in North Platte and was active with the Hershey Senior Center for many years during retirement. She loved to do crafts and took great pride in her yard, especially her roses. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting, creating numerous beautiful afghans and quilts which she sold or gave away as gifts. Trena was happiest when she was in her kitchen baking pies and cooking for her family and friends. She was an avid baseball fan, and especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren and GreatGrandchildren's school events, music and sports activities.She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis, in 1995; her parents; a son-in-law, Neil Seybold; three brothers, Cr. ‘Doc'', Earl and George Edson; and three sisters, Grace Schultheiss, Dorothy Craig and Ruby Carmin.Funeral service was December 14, 2009, at Odean Colonial Chapel. Burial in the North Platte Cemetery.
