Lemuel Collard was a German Immigrant who served in the Texas Revolution. He and Elizabeth Lindley Collard were the parents of 13 known children.
1834, Lemuel settled on his 4,428 acre Land Grant in Walker County Texas; butiling a small cabin in that year. The cabin was construced of hand-hewn pine logs (square notched) with the chimney made of mud and sticks. 1835 Lemuel began making additions. He addedd a 10ft wide "dog trot". He replaced the mud & stick chimney with 2 brick chimney's and added a front porch across the width of the cabin.
1846 Lemuel sold this home.
