He was born in Rains County, Texas in 1900 and the family moved to Scurry County, Texas in 1915. Mr. Shultz and his family moved to Clovis, N.M., in 1943. His wife, Vera Jacobs Shultz, preceded him in death.
Mr. Shultz is survived by five daughters, Violet South of Cedar Hill, Texas, Melba Hastings of Sterling, Marlene Essex of Clovis, N.M, Carolyn Rose of Houston, Texas, and Aletha Wagonseller of Lubbock, Texas; a son, Hollis Shultz of Altus, Okla.; 21 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted 3 p.m. Saturday at Snyder cemetery.
