Mary Coward Taylor, age 85, of Huntsville, died Saturday at a local care facility.

Mrs. Taylor was a lifetime member of Holmes Street United Methodist Church and sang in the Choir. She was past president of United Methodist Women.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Taylor; parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Coward; brother, Jim Coward.

She is also survived by her one daughter, Marilyn Taylor Woods and husband Bill of Huntsville; granddaughter, Renee Bishop and husband Scott; grandson, Billy Woods; great-grandchildren, Josh and Courtney Bishop; two sisters, Barbara Gasper of Huntsville and Christine Byrne of Pulaski, TN; several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being handled by Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville, where the family will receive friends Tuesday from 5-8PM. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 2PM at Holmes Street United Methodist Church, with Rev. J. B. Pendergraff and Dalton Styes officiating. Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery.
