Actor. Born in new York City, he was classically trained as a theater performer when he merged into silent films making his debut in "Carmen" (1915). During his early prolific silent film era career, he soon became a popular leading man in Hollywood sound motion pictures. His many memorable credits include "International Settlement" (1938), "Saboteur" (1942) and "Crisis" (1950). He died at age 68 in Sunland, California.
