OBITUARY: Arnold, Gilbert A. Of Germantown. October 7, 2008, age 99 years. Beloved husband of the late Gladys (nee Tesch). Loving father of Gene (Janet) and Lynne (Jerry) Schuppie. Dear grandpa of Adam (Theresa), Craig (Judy) and Amy Arnold, and Kyle (Janie) Schuppie, Lori (Juergen) Gieske and Julie (Dennis) Miller. Dear brother of Marjorie (the late Harold) Eske. Dear brother-in-law of Viola Troeller. Further survived by 10 great-grandchildren, his longtime caregiver Donna Fay, other relatives and friends. Masonic Services will be Friday, Oct. 10, at 7PM, AT THE FUNERAL HOME, under the auspices of Lincoln Lodge #183 F&AM followed by the religious service, with Rev. Jane Terry officiating. Private Burial Christ Church Cemetery, Dheinsville. Visitation Friday 4PM until time of the Services. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Our Saviour's Cemetery Trust Fund appreciated. Gilbert was a person who was very involved in his community. He worked at Schaetzel Oil Co., for over 40 years. He was a founding partner in Riteway Bus Service. He was a former director of Germantown State Bank, Germantown Marine Bank, and Germantown Mutual Insurance Co. He was a 50+year member of the Germantown Volunteer Fire Company, past President of Germantown Rotary Club, former President of Christ Church, past Secretary Treasurer of Washington / Ozaukee County Shrine Club, former past Master of Lincoln Lodge, former board member of Cedar Campus Benevolent Corp., and founding board member of Community Memorial Hospital. He was a former school board member of Germantown Grade School and High School. He served as trustee on the Germantown Village Board and served as village President. He also served on the Washington County Board and was chairman Washington County Civil Service Commission. All of these achievements earned him "Citizen of the Year" in 2001. SCHMIDT & BARTELT A.A.
