A funeral for John H. Featherston, 67, of Fredericksburg will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Fredericksburg. The Rev. Stefan P. Starzynski and the Rev. Jack Peterson will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, with a rosary service to begin at 7:30 p.m.

Mr. Featherston died Monday, Dec. 10, 2001, at Henrico Doctors Hospital in Richmond.

Born in Fredericksburg, he had retired as an ordinance worker at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and was a Korean War Navy veteran.
Survivors include four sisters, Mary Frances Ball of Des Moines, Iowa, Dorothy F. Valentine of Spotsylvania, Dale Marie Featherston and Nancy C. Featherston, both of Fredericksburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Fredericksburg Rescue Squad, Box 444, Fredericksburg, Va. 22404; to the American Diabetes Association, Rappahannock Chapter, Box 1385, Fredericksburg, Va. 22402; or to the American Heart Association, Mid-Atlantic Affiliate, Memorials and Tributes Processing Center, Box 5216, Glen Allen, Va. 23058.
