In Memphis, Tenn, - he was a sanitation worker killed (crushed) by an accident with an outdated malfunctioning garbage truck -- It was a precursor to the 'Memphis Sanitation Strike' whose slogan was 'I am a Man'. He was 29. It caused Martin Luther King, Jr to come to Memphis where he was later assassinated.
