Jordan was related, on his mother's side, to Sir Thomas Cardinal Bourchier (1406-1486), Roman Catholic Archbishop of Canterbury, who was appointed Lord Chancellor of England, about 1454, by King Henry VI, during a brief remission of Henry's mental illness. Jordan was a successful businessman, in San Francisco, and left Lulu a tall stack, of supposedly very valuable gold mine stock certificates, which turner-out to be worthless, since all of the mining companies had gone out of business, after Jordan's death, because the mines quit producing gold, or anything else of value. Jordan must not be confused, with his brother, Frank Worsdale Cottle's son, Jordan Bancroft Cottle, who, also, went by Jordan B. Cottle.
