Services for Elmer C. Ayres, about 80, Carroll County native and brother of three Carroll County residents, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Diggs Funeral Home, Marion. Burial will be at Marion. He died Thursday at Brownsville, Tex. He formerly lived in Marion. The son of John and Emma Ayres, he was born and reared near Bringhurst. His marriage was to Edna Gillam of Carroll County.
Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Knipple of Brownsville; two granddaughters; two brothers, Ancil of Marion and Basil of Flora; three sisters, Mrs. Esta Foster and Mrs. Minnie Ross, both of Bringhurst, and Mrs, Maud Wood of Clarks Hill; and several nieces and nephews.
