Ardis Hazel Lavonne Albright, 65, of Pelican Rapids, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls.

She was born Jan. 19, 1935, in Scambler Township near Pelican Rapids, the daughter of Thorwald and Gusta (Teigen) Bakken. She was baptized and confirmed at Grove Lake Lutheran Church in rural Pelican Rapids. She attended school in Pelican Rapids and graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1953.

On Dec. 30, 1953, she married Dr. Kenneth D. Albright in Pelican Rapids. In 1955, they moved to Minneapolis until 1958, when they moved to Hawley. The couple moved to Pelican Rapids in 1960, where they raised their four children. Mr. Albright died Dec. 13, 1997.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids. She enjoyed baking and reading and playing the organ and piano.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; a son, Mark; her parents; a brother, Garfield Bakken; and three sisters, Evelyn Fisher, Ellen Olson and Myrna Steeves.

Visitation: Friday from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church

Service: 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids
