Jane Winters was married to James Campbell who died as a result of the Revolutionary War, thus she was entitled to land as the widow of James. In 1797 she brought 3 children to south of what is now Edinboro and claimed a thousand acres for the family. Her oldest daughter, Nancy married a member of the original Erie County survey group, Job Reeder. They then located in what was to be Washington County, on March 1, 1880, the first marriage in the vicinity.
Later Jane married Robert Fitz RANDOLPH 1741 - 1830 and moved to Meadville, PA. After the death of Robert Randolph, Jane returned to the Campbell homestead in Washington County, remaining there until her death in 1843.
The 1830 Census for Mead Twp., Crawford Co., PA lists a "Robert F. Randolph" (age 80-90) with a female (age 60-70) living in his household, probably the female is Jane "Granny" (nee Winters) Campbell/Randolph.
