Douglas Chadwell, 73 of Loyall passed away Sunday May 16, 2010 at the Harlan Nursing Home. Doug was a native of Ewing, VA and lived here in Harlan County all of his life. Doug was a U.S. Army Veteran and a Finance Officer for the American Legion for many years, Doug also graduated Loyall High School in 1954 and believed in the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, W.D. (Doug) Chadwell and Lizzie Robinson Chadwell; three brothers, Houston Chadwell, Lester Chadwell and Robert (Bob) V. Chadwell; two sisters, Ruth Noe and Barthenia Wilder.

Doug is survived by two sisters, Ocie Harris and husband Wed, Beaver Dam, KY and Ruby Buchanan and husband Hershel, Gallatin, TN.

Visitation will be 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Loyall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday May 18, 2010 in the chapel of Loyall Funeral Home with David Green officiating.

Burial will be in the Chadwell Family Cemetery in Ewing, VA.

Military Rites by the Harlan Honor Guard.

Harlan Honor Guard will serve as pallbearers.
