Orin was the husband of Anna "Nancy" (Amey) Spencer (1801-1871.
______________________________________________________________________
He was the son of Daniel David Spencer, a Revolutionary War Veteran, born April 1, 1761 in Farmington, Hartford Co., Connecticut, and died ca 1853-1856 in Dallas Twp., Luzerne Co., PA.
Orin's father was known simply as "Daniel" Spencer, not "David" Spencer and not "Daniel David Spencer". Besides Orin's father Daniel, there was another Daniel living in the area who was named "Daniel D. Spencer," but that's not Orin's father Daniel. The confusion over Daniel vs. David goes back to a misreading of an early cursive document, in which "Daniel" was mistakenly thought to be "David." (information courtesy of Jared Olar)
