Memorial services for Ariel "Dee" Jones, a resident of Rico, Colorado were held Sunday, September 19, 1999 at the Rico Community Church beginning at 2 p.m. Rev. Jim Patton officiated. Following the memorial services, a potluck was held at the Rico Courthouse.
Ariel was born the daughter of Charles B. and Ariel Civilla Lobberecht Strandquist on June 25, 1934 in Brooklyn, New York. Se died at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado,on Tuesday, September 14, 1999, at the age of 65. Ariel had worked as an ICU nurse at Southwest Memorial Hospital for 18 years.
She is survived by her three sons, Mark E. Jones, and his wife, Shelly, of Grand Junction, Colorado, G . David Jones, of Bend, Oregon, and Todd Jones, and his wife, Kim,
of Rico, Colorado; three grandchildren, Wyatt Matthew Jones, of Rico, Colorado, Amanda D. Jones, of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Tyler Jones, of Bend, Oregon; a brother, Bud Strandquist, of Denver, Colorado; two nieces and numerous cousins.
Memorial contributions can be made in Ariel Jones' name with the Rico Fire Department.Arrangements were made through the Ertel Funeral Home.

Ariel Dernia "Dee" Strandquist, the daughter of Charles Bernard Strandquist and Ariel Cevilla (Lobberecht) Strandquist, married first in 1958 in Dallas, TX, Ernest Alexander Lehner (b. 1833 still living in 2022). They divorced on 25 Mar 1968 in Boulder, CO, and she married second, Myron Louis Jones (b. 1923-2002) in 1971.
