Morris E. Johnson, age 92, of Anoka, MN. Died January 16, 2005. Preceded in death by wife, Doris M.; brothers, Melvin and William. He married Doris Allison Aug. 30, 1935,in Hutchinson, McLeod Co. MN. Survived by daughter; son; grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. "Mr. Music of Anoka." Graduated from the Minneapolis College of Music, received his Masters degree from St. Thomas and taught music (band) in Princeton, MN, LeSueur, MN and Anoka, MN. He was also the director of Music in Anoka Hennepin School District 11. Morrie was church choir director and singer, he played in the North Suburban Band and the Fridley Community Band. He was a Mason and was also extremely active in Anoka Kiwanis.

He is known for being the first high school band leader to let his students march in khaki shorts. His Anoka band played several times in the California Rose Bowl football games half time.
