C.W. "Bill" King, 81, a resident of Gaston the past 60 years, died Sept. 10, 1964, in a Forest Grove hospital. Services were held Sept. 14 at Fuiten-Friesen Mortuary Chapel with The Rev. Robert Alliston of the Forest Grove First Christian Church officiating. Vault interment was at Forest View Cemetery.
Born in Cass County, Neb., Oct. 3, 1882, the son of Thomas Jefferson and Mary Oliver King, he came to the Gaston area in 1902 and except for 10 years spent in Forest Grove had lived in the Gaston vicinity. He married Jessie C. McLeod of Gaston in Hillsboro Nov. 23, 1904. For 25 years Mr. King farmed between Wapato and Cove Orchard and for a number of years had been in the garage business in Gaston. He had been employed by the Gaston Feed Company before his retirement. His wife predeceased him in 1961. He was a long time member of the Forest Grove First Christian Church and for many years was a member of the Knights of Phthias Lodge of Gaston.
He is survived by one son, Merrill King of Gaston, and a sister, Mrs. Edith Irwin of Marysville, Wash.
