Then we know that Mary Lewis, wife of Justus (1739-1808) died in New Hartford just prior to 5 Mar 1815, when her son Justus of Decatur, NY posts a bond with the New Hartford District Probate Court to serve as administrator of her intestate estate. Perhaps to ease his brother's travel to and from New Hartford, on 19 Mar 1815 Justus's brother Elisha of New Hartford, posts another administrator bond w the court to administer their mother's estate. It seems the court's work was completed 6 March 1817. From the opening date of probate we surmise Mary's death in February of 1815.
The probate record is an undeniable fact.
