Died at 3:15 a.m. Wednesday, Sept 6, 1978, at his residence in Irwinville. He was 64, a native of Alto and a veteran of World War II.
Body at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Winnsboro, from 4 p.m. Friday until 1 p.m. Saturday. Religious services at Turkey Creek Baptist Church, Turkey Creek, at 2 p.m. Saturday. Burial in Central Cemetery, Wisner.
Survived by his wife, Mrs. Ollie Kinison Sproles, Irwinville; a daughter, Mrs. Huey (Margie) Cates, Jeanerette; five sons, Jesse Sproles, Jr.; Irwinville; Willie F. Sproles, Baton Rouge; Kildren Sproles, Jarreau; Charles Lee Sproles, Gonzales and Michael Sproles, Maringouin; five sisters, Mrs. Mable Maxie of Minnesota, Blanche McDonald, Natchez, Miss., Verna Lee Gwin, Baskin, Georgie Murry, Vidalia, Bennie Mae Stephens, Ferriday; a brother, L.C. Sproles, Vidalia; 22 grandchildren.
Wilbert Funeral Home, Port Allen, in charge of local arrangements.

Jesse is believed to have been born in Mississippi, the son of Luther Jesse and Etta (Nations) Sproles. He was the husband of Ollie Kinison. Their children included Michael Wayne, Jesse L. Jr., Margie, Kildren, Willie, and Charles. At the time of his death Jesse resided at Erwinville, La.
