Funeral services for Rosie Copeland Stanley, 93, of Rayville, were held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at Midway Baptist Church, Rayville, LA with Bro. Jim Gulledge, Bro. Bob Tuggle and Bro. Alvin Stowe officiating. Interment followed in Shanks Cemetery, Rayville, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home in Rayville.
Mrs. Stanley was born on January 14, 1915 and passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2008 after a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her husband of more than fifty years, Ed "Doc" Stanley; 3-sons, W.L. "Shorty" Stanley, Norwood Don Stanley, and George Stanley; daughter, Shirley Stanley Fairchild; 3-grandchildren and 3-great grandchildren; her parents, Thomas and Mittie Vines Copeland; her 2-brothers, and 2-sisters.
She is survived by her 3-sons, Bobby and daughter-in-law, Helen Stanley of Rayville, Bill and daughter-in-law, Rita Stanley of Freer, TX, Roy and daughter-in-law, Jetty Stanley of Lumberton, TX; 3-daughters, Martha Goyne of Monroe, Magglene Polk of Epps, Rose Dale and son-in-law, Alvin Stowe of Rayville; 30-grandchildren, 60-great grandchildren, and 28-great-great grandchildren. Her faithful daughter-in-law, Barbara Stanley of Amite, LA; baby sister, Agnes Griffin of Ashdown, AR, and beloved sister-in-law of many years, Marcell Copeland of Start.
Pallbearers were Robert Stanley, Gary Stanley, Mike Goyne, Lonnie Polk, Raenette Klein, and Luke Stowe.
