Never married. From an old newspaper clipping, unknown paper and date: William (Billy) J. Wood, 75, died Wednesday morning at 7 o'clock at his home west of Wellington. He suffered a stroke about a year ago and has been confined to his home since. He was born in Lucas county, Iowa on January 31, 1870 and came to Sumner county with his parents in 1877 and a year after they moved to the farm where he has lived until his death. Survivors include two sisters, Miss Clara Wood of the home and Mrs. Cora Wood of Wellington, several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral survices will be held at the Church of Christ in Milan on Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Burial will be in the Milan cemetery.
