BAKER, Hiram T "Bert"
Services for Hiram (Bert) Baker, 75, Fruitland, are planned for 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Fairbanks-Lamb Chapel. Mr. Baker died Tuesday afternoon at the Muscatine General Hospital.
Officiating will be Rev. LaVerne Hubbard. Visitation is after 1 p.m. today and burial will be in Island Cemetery.
Born Oct. 28, 1900, in Ottumwa, he was a son of John and Rosie McCoy Baker. He married Edna Costello Herlein Dec. 6, 1974, at Muscatine. He was a member of the Fruitland Baptist Church and a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife, stepsons, Dale, Kenneth E., Bruce, Kenneth H., Frank, Leonard and Gary Herlein, Muscatine, Weldon, Ivan and Lloyd Strause, Fruitland and Ernest Strause, Monticello, Wisc.; a stepdaughter, Sylvia Herlein, Verona, Wisc.; and a brother, John, Ottumwa. Preceded him in death were three sisters and a stepson.
