Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, at 11:00 a.m., at the chapel of Ott Funeral home, in Branchville, with Father Okere officiating.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Joseph W. Walters, Sr. of Branchville, one daughter, Harriett W. Slezak, and husband, Norman, of Stanardsville, Va., two sons, Joseph W. Walters, Jr., and wife, Judith, of Lady's Island and George Sidney Walters and wife, Nancy, of Branchville. She was known as "MaMa" to her 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by one brother, Charles Embree, and wife, Mary Jo, of Georgia, and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty K. Driggers.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to a special niece, Shelley Lindell, Tri-County Hospice, and caregiver, Sheree Misik.
